Silverstream Exhibition Opening

The  Southern Art & Craft Trail is held each year, in conjunction with different venues around the Great Southern of Western Australia – one of which was Silverstream Wines, 2365 Scotsdale Road, Denmark. This is a not for profit event – organized by Annette Grant – who puts artists and venues together to create synergies in Art , Wine and Food.

Most venues have an opening on the first Saturday of the two week Trail – but Silverstream chose to open on Saturday 3rd October, with a fanfare of exciting things happening. Have a look at the invite here. Approximately 100 people came from around the area – Perth/Albany/Pemberton & Denmark.

David Walker, whose full speech can be read here, introduced Helen Williams the artist in residence.  Peter Keelan played the pan pipes, James Kellie from Harewood Estate who makes wine for Silverstream introduced the new 2009 vintages and then to top it off, Elle Deslandes – the graphic designer for Silverstream Wines, joined us (on vocals) with Danny Moss Junior (double bass) and Mark Fitzgibbon (piano).

Despite the chilly weather, we had a fantastic time, with friends, neighbours and newcomers to the vineyard.
