Intense aromas of red fruits - cherry and plum. Undertones of new French oak and a suggestion of licorice. A medium to full-bodied Pinot Noir that exhibits a fine tannin structure wonderfully integrated with the new oak. Flavours of plum, cherries and strawberry with a hint of warm spices and vanillin oak. A generous finish and persistence with the ability to age for five to eight years.
WINEMAKING The fruit was hand-picked and transported to the winery for open-top stainless steel fermentation with approximtely 30% whole bunch inclusion. Careful plunging was undertaken to ensure gentle extraction of colour, flavour and fine, elegant tannins. The wine was then pressed off and matured in 20% new and remaining in seasoned French oak for 10 months. Minimal fining and filtration prior to bottling.

“Christmas spice sprinkling over mocha oak on the nose here ... the fruit is ripe, red and intense. A full-frontal attack of flavour and tannin on the palate. Lots going on.”
