Intense aromas of red fruits - cherry and plum. Undertones of new French oak and a suggestion of licorice. A medium to full-bodied Pinot Noir that exhibits a fine tannin structure wonderfully integrated with the new oak. Flavours of plum, cherries and strawberry with a hint of warm spices and vanillin oak. A generous finish and persistence with the ability to age for five to eight years.
The fruit was hand-picked and transported to the winery for open-top stainless steel fermentation with approximtely 30% whole bunch inclusion. Careful plunging was undertaken to ensure gentle extraction of colour, flavour and fine, elegant tannins. The wine was then pressed off and matured in 20% new and remaining in seasoned French oak for 10 months. Minimal fining and filtration prior to bottling.

"... the bouquet is raspberry to smoked meats, with some spice and black cherry chiming in after. The tannins are generous and supple, the finish lengthy. Rich and deep, a generous mouthfeel of pinot noir. Good value."
