Mt Barker is the renowned for its cool climate Syrah, closely resembling that of the Northern Rhone region in France. Silverstream winemaker, Mike Garland secured a small parcel of fruit from a single vineyard in the Mt Barker sub-region in 2021 to produce this limited release wine.
Ripe and intense black fruit aromas – plum and blackberry with underlying hints of warm spices, black pepper and licorice. Rich fruit flavours and fleshy tannins are well supported by seasoned French oak. Flavours of plum, licorice and dark chocolate are long and persistent.

“Expressive pinot from Denmark. It’s been made with an understated approach although 30% whole bunches have been included. Spicy plum and cherry on the nose with a little dried herbs. The medium-bodied palate is quite soft and supple. Yet there is structure and poise which has been influenced by the whole bunch inclusion.”
